We just invested 60 hours to help sustain our local parks

When we planned this “spring” event there was snow on the ground and we were only dreaming of flowers and sunshine. Little did we know it would be so warm and beautiful on May 24th. The Two Or More community of volunteers gathered at Lyndale Gardens in south Minneapolis to pull weeds, plant perennials, move rock (yeah, muscles!), and fill up on some much needed vitamin D. This spring event was a great way for us to get outside, network, serve and learn more about the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation. Our community parks and outdoor spaces are one of our greatest local assets, and it takes a village of volunteers to help keep them vibrant and beautiful. We enjoyed learning more from Theresa and Becca – Park and Rec staff members – about weeding, watering and planting.

What a privilege to support such a great cause, spend time with amazing people, and make a community-supporting impact. Our next volunteer event will be a kid-friendly service opportunity at Feed My Starving Children in Eagan on August 2, 2018. Make plans to join us as we raise up the next generation of service-focused leaders!
