I am excited to meet you! I have been a brand and marketing leader for 30+ years, with a track record of utilizing creativity, incorporating strategic thinking, building united teams, and growing strong, differentiated brands in order to achieve growth. I believe marketing is the entire Customer Experience (CX) from the first brand touch to the customer’s after-sales support. Over the course of my career, I have worked with early stage start-ups to large global enterprises, both domestically and internationally, and have functioned both corporately and in consultancy settings. I enjoy collaboration and acclimate to new environments quickly.
A large portion of my career has been in B2B2C sectors such as textiles, apparel, manufacturing and home furnishings. I have also led marketing initiatives within the B2B space in areas such as manufacturing, retail, medical and industrial, and B2C spaces, such as furniture and craft spirits. Although the business models may vary, I believe in establishing a deep understanding of each audience to genuinely appreciate their needs or desires, and then delivering on our brand promise to build trust and to create brand ambassadors.
As a CMO, I thrive in the early stages of helping brands define their mission, brand personality, culture, and ultimately in helping them articulate their brand promise. From there I love to develop high-level strategies to encompass creative, planning, processes, resources and metrics to build a brand that has a strong foundation and is poised for long-lasting growth.
I live with my husband, Jeff, in High Point, NC, along with our three misfit cats and our senior dog. We officially became empty-nesters a year ago but my favorite time is when our three daughters, son-in-law, and future son-in-law all gather back together at our home. Our faith and our family are the most important facets of our lives.
We live simply most of the time by taking daily walks, gardening to grow what we use for cooking (lots of vegetables and herbs + flowers!), cooking unusual meals together and sitting outdoors by our fire pit enjoying a craft beer. Otherwise, you’ll find me fostering kittens for our local shelter and volunteering at a therapeutic riding center for riders with disabilities every week.
We take a lot of impromptu weekend trips and we absolutely love to travel internationally. We are always planning the next country to visit!
